Pitt Honors at Balliol College, Oxford offers one, highly-qualified History major the opportunity to spend an academic year (October – June) at one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in the world.  A part of the larger Oxford University system, Balliol College allows students to study in the British tutorial system surrounded by lush greens and historic buildings. This distinct method of instruction is exclusive to a small handful of universities in the United Kingdom.

The Honors Oxford program is open to declared History majors who will be rising juniors or seniors and have achieved at least a 3.75 cumulative grade point average. The selected student will slot into the second year of Balliol’s 3-year program. Highly subsidized for the chosen recipient, the cost of the Honors Oxford program will be equivalent to the Pitt in London program and include tuition, room and board, as well as services and extra-curricular activities at Balliol.  Students are expected to have a clean judicial record on the Pitt campus, and complete the desired application questions with thoughtfulness in terms of their academic pursuits and their connection to Oxford University.
