Virtual Ort Braude Summer Research

Conduct VIRTUAL  research at Ort Braude College for SUMMER 2021!!
 
The Ort Braude summer research program  program enables  Pitt students to work with Ort Braude faculty and researchers who are experts in their fields and learn how research is conducted in a different culture and environment.  All research work will be in English!
 
Ort Braude College, located in Karmiel, Israel,  is an engineering focused university dedicated to teaching and research and has a committment to working in cooperation with industry.  The Ort Braude Summer Research brochure provides general information on the program.  This brochure provides additional general information on research at Ort Braude.

Application requirements:
  • Pitt student in good standing
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA 
  • Junior or Senior status preferred, exceptional sophomore status may be accepted 

Costs for this virtual research program are paid directly to Ort Braude and will be minimal for Summer 2021.

Deadline to apply is March 1, 2021!

Students should complete both the Pitt online application AND submit the additional materials outlined below by the deadline of: March 1, 2021 
  
For the VIRTUAL Summer 2021 Research program, there will be two project options. Review the projects here:  project 1 and project 2.
 
In addition to the Pitt online application materials, you must also submit additional application documents outlined below to the Ort Braude Program manager, Alicia Olalde, from the Engineering International Programs office by March 1, 2021.  
 
  • Letter of reference from faculty
  • Resume
  • Unofficial transcript
  • Statement of interest for project (1 page description of which project you are most interested in.  Please describe why you are interested in this project including what experience you bring to the project.)

Konnichiwa! After working for the JET program in Japan for just over two years, I decided to pursue a career in international education. I returned to the US via a few months of travel -slowing making my way west with many stops in stunning locations and with amazing people. Whenever possible, I continue to love exploring new countries and cultures! I have been fortunate to work both as an administrator and as a classroom educator in higher education; my areas of interest are international, adult and comparative education.  I enjoy assisting engineering students seize international opportunities!
