Leadership skills are among the most valuable transferrable skills that you will utilize throughout your professional and personal life. Developing your leadership style is a deeply personal experience that can be honed through intentional experiential learning. Leadership in a Global Context gives you the opportunity to put leadership theory into practice by means of this 1-credit experiential learning opportunity through the use of simulations.
This virtual program will occur in eight sessions over the course of 10 days, during which you will learn principles and theories behind leadership development and have the chance to develop and hone your leadership skills through engaging co-operative simulations.
Simulations are instructional scenarios where you will use modeled behavior to understand a certain concept. The scenario represents a certain part of leadership-based reality. As you engage in the simulation you will make decisions and face their repercussions. At the conclusion of the simulation, you will reflect on the simulated experience to gather understanding.

- learn the foundations of leadership theory and develop your personal leadership style
- apply transferrable skills gained through simulations.
- examine your own strengths, weaknesses, values, and beliefs by means of a global environment

¡Hola a todxs! I am an International Programs Manager for Pitt Business and a Western PA native. As an undergraduate students, I had my first experience abroad when my college choir toured the southern region of Spain, and I’ve been hooked ever since. One year after that, I spent a semester at la Universidad de Sevilla in Seville, Spain; which are among the best months of my life. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Westminster College and a master’s degree in Higher Education from Penn State (I know, I know). I’m looking forward to helping undergraduate students pursue global education opportunities to further develop their personal, academic, and professional goals.
