Dr. Gemma Marolda

Dr. Gemma Marolda is currently teaching for the Department of Political Science and the European Studies Center at the University of Pittsburgh. With 20 years of experience in higher education in the field of International Relations and European Studies, Dr. Marolda has taught extensively on Global Governance and Human Security, International Organizations, Transatlantic Relations, European Union politics, and Asian Regionalism. While a Visiting Fellow (2009-2012) at the Centre for European Union Studies at Chulalongkorn University (Chula) in Bangkok, Thailand, Dr. Marolda became interested in human security issues, and in particular migration, a long-standing challenge for many countries of South-East Asia. A native of Italy, Dr. Marolda is currently working on a project on migration in Europe and its impact on the European security discourse.
