Plus3 Global Projects

Globe with arrows to South America

New challenges in the health field are always increasing the need for innovated business solutions in order to assist vulnerable populations around the world.

Plus3 Global Projects is a three-week interdisciplinary project-based program that explores Healthcare Management throughout Latin America.

Participants will collaborate in multicultural teams from the United States and South America to tackle real-world questions posed by a company in Latin America. This will provide students with a firsthand glimpse of globalization through industry-specific virtual visits with companies in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, and Argentina as well as cultural activities, Q&A sessions with industry stakeholders, and faculty/guest lectures that will provide additional cultural and political context on each location. The program will conclude with a final presentation to the Latin American company and Pitt faculty/staff.

By working in multicultural teams, first-year students will strengthen their critical thinking, global competency, adaptability, and personal development while gaining intercultural and professional experiences.

This program is a partnership between Pitt Business and Pitt School of Nursing. If you have additional questions, please contact a Program Manager.

Rick Moslen

I’m Rick, and I’m an International Programs Manager at Pitt Business. I have managed international programming, advised & taught international students, and helped others strengthen their cultural competancies for over seven years. My international interests began as an undergrad, and since then I’ve explored over 26 countries and have experienced everything from presenting on a panel at a music festival in Spain, to studying traditional dance music in Peru, to getting chased by monkeys in Malaysia (not recommended), to hiking to the top of Table Mountain in South Africa. Fun fact: I love turbulence on planes (it’s like getting rocked to sleep).

Anthony Gomez

¡Hola a todxs! I am an International Programs Manager for Pitt Business and a Western PA native. As an undergraduate students, I had my first experience abroad when my college choir toured the southern region of Spain, and I’ve been hooked ever since. One year after that, I spent a semester at la Universidad de Sevilla in Seville, Spain; which are among the best months of my life. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Westminster College and a master’s degree in Higher Education from Penn State (I know, I know). I’m looking forward to helping undergraduate students pursue global education opportunities to further develop their personal, academic, and professional goals.
