Originally from Ignacio Allende, Durango, México, Brenda Sólkez graduated with a B.A. and a M.A. in Hispanic Literatures from the University of Houston. Currently, she is a third year PhD student in the Department of Hispanic Languages and Literatures in the University of Pittsburgh.
