Pitt in Spain - July Session

The small, cobblestone streets of Alcala de Henares are only 30 minutes away from Madrid but will transport you back to a different time.  Pitt in Spain offers you the chance to live and study in this historic city while improving your Spanish skills.  The atmosphere of the small and manageable city combined with your Spanish host family will leave you feeling like a true Spaniard by the time your program is over.

International Internship Program: Madrid (Spain)

The International Internship Program (IIP) gives you a competitive advantage through the experience of a summer-long, full-time internship abroad. Full - time means anywhere from 35 to 40 hours a week, so you will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to your organization as well as develop professional relationships with your coworkers.

INNOVATE: Global Issues in Engineering and Business: Vietnam

INNOVATE is a 3-credit course that takes place during the entire spring semester, and program travel happens during Spring Break. This year, students will go to Vietnam! Students participating in the program will travel to both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from March 9-16, 2024. Students will attend multiple professional site visits with both local and international companies, partake in cultural tours, and engage with local Vietnamese students.
 

Himalayan Health

Join a group of adventurous fellow students for five and a half weeks during the early summer in North India to learn about the challenges of emergency medicine, public health and medical care or choose to learn more about Yoga and Mindfulness in the Himalayas, one of the most spectacular mountain ranges on earth. All students will take a 3 credits Himalayan Health course and then can choose one of two 6 credits experiences:

Healthcare Delivery in Switzerland

This program offers you an opportunity to learn about the culture, health care delivery, and nursing education in a Switzerland. During this 2-week study abroad experience, you will visit various academic, health care, government-supported, non-governmental, and private organizations focusing on educating nurses and advancing health care. The program includes overnight stays in Zurich, Basel, and Geneva and an excursion to Interlaken. During the trip to Geneva, you will visit the World Health Organization, United Nations, Red Cross Museum, and International Council of Nurses.

The Haller Global Honors Fellowship: Ireland program is exclusive to Pitt Business students who have been admitted to the Frederick Honors College.


This international honors experience, exclusive for Pitt Business honors students accepted into the Haller Global Fellows program, allows you to jumpstart your academic career at Pitt Business and be part of an international business consulting team -- all prior to your first semester on campus!

Pitt Johnstown: Student Teaching in New Zealand

This program is an overseas student teaching program for Pitt-Johnstown education majors only. This is an excellent opportunity for students to apply methods learned at Pitt-Johnstown to a "real world" teaching experience!  Students spend 7 weeks at Johnstown for the first half of the semester prior to traveling to New Zealand for 7 weeks to both complete their academics and to student teach.  It is a great opportunity to combine study abroad and student teaching abroad.
